Chocolate production

Cargill first entered the European industrial chocolate market in December 2003 with the acquisition of OCG Cacao SA. Since then, we have had a plant that manufactures cocoa-based products (cocoa powder and industrial chocolate) in France, located at Grand Quevilly, near Rouen. It is notably unique in managing the complete industrial process, integrating the processing of cocoa beans and the chocolate making activity thus ensuring total traceability from raw materials to finished products.

The products we manufacture are used in many sectors: confectionery, pastries, biscuits, breakfast cereals, ice-cream and dairy products. The site at Grand Quevilly also produces cocoa solids (obtained by milling beans) and cocoa butter.

In order to offer our customers the highest quality standards, Cargill sources the finest quality cocoa from West Africa (Côte d'Ivoire, Ghana, Cameroon), South America (Venezuela, Ecuador) and the Indian Ocean (Madagascar).

The Grand Quevilly site guarantees an optimal level of hygiene and food safety and is certified to IFS, ISO140001 and AIB. It currently employs 120 people.
